A safer way to open an important website
A familiar logo, a search ad, or a padlock can make the wrong page look convincing. Practice one small decision before you enter a password or payment detail.
Notice the real address
Suppose a link opens example.com.sign-in-help.net. The site is sign-in-help.net, not example.com. A familiar name placed earlier in the address does not make it the real site.
Take one action
Close the page. Open the company’s official app, a bookmark you already trust, or an address you have verified independently. If a message says to call immediately, do not use the number or link in that message.
Check that it worked
Before signing in, read the address shown by your browser. Can you identify the site you intended to visit? If you are unsure, stop and use the official app or a known contact method.
That is one decision from the Beginner course. The full course adds guided practice for accounts, device protection, scams, backups, and recovery, with a way to verify each change.
